Course Description:
In this two-day course, participants will identify evidence-based management strategies for those suffering from chronic pain. Participants will become more familiar with the evidence related to neurophysiology of pain, therapeutic neuroscience education, the therapeutic alliance and the biopsychosocial approach. Definition of what pain is, what pain isn't and how to communicate this to patients will be covered. This class will discuss how to use pain neuroscience education with manual therapy therapy and therapeutic exercise to address the many complexities of chronic pain. Management of chronic pain is not simple, but identifying how to deliver the best interventions will assist the participants on how to manage this challenging population.
