Course Description:
This 2-Day course presents the student with practical knowledge in the assessment and treatment of segmental and regional movement dysfunction through the use of muscle energy(ME) techniques as commonly utilized by physical therapists and osteopaths. Emphasis is placed on identification of dysfunction, the area of greatest restriction(AGR)within the skeletal system, and treatment of same through the use of manual techniques which make use of positioning and coupling in movement, contract-relax and reciprocal inhibition principles.
Participation in this manual therapy course will enhance the physical therapy practitioner’s ability to improve patient outcomes and goals related to functional mobility, pain reduction, and participation in daily activities.
