Course Description:
Evidence suggests that cognitive impairments are prevalent among populations receiving rehabilitation services, and these cognitive impairments attenuate rehabilitation outcomes. Our approach to rehabilitation instruction and training may contribute to the problem. However, evidence suggests that specific alterations to rehabilitation instruction and training may improve outcomes among people with cognitive impairments. This course will provide an overview of theoretical frameworks, evidence, and the application of simple strategies that can be applied by the beginner, intermediate, and advanced level rehabilitation professional
