Course Description:
The Practice Oriented Research Training (PORT) seminar series provides a framework for clinicians who are interested in developing a research question into a proposal. The seminar series runs over 12 weeks, providing a facilitated discussion on the topic of the week along with opportunities for problem solving related sections of participants’ proposals. Note, however, that in between the seminar series, participants are expected to complete readings and draft sections of their proposals that relate to the weekly topic. Following the last session, participants will have drafted complete research proposals, which can be submitted to the Investigator Award competition held by Mary Free Bed Research & Innovation, to an external grant funding agency, or in some cases may be implemented without grant funding.
