Course Description:
Research has changed the way we think about factors involved in somatic dysfunctions of upper quarter musculoskeletal system. Regional relevance describes the important relationship between regions of the body with respect to management of the musculoskeletal disorders. Understanding interplay between cervical spine, thoracic spine, and shoulder joint complex is important to regain musculoskeletal homeostasis for effective patient care management. This association mandates a holistic approach for treatment rather than just symptom-based management. At the conclusion of this presentation, audience will demonstrate better understanding in regional clinical relevance of cervical spine, thoracic spine and shoulder joint complex for managing upper quarter pain syndromes. Participants will demonstrate improved clinical reasoning and evidence-based management strategies.
